How can I partner with FindGift.com?
FindGift.com does not sell gifts. We are not a gift store. Instead, we are free service that helps people think of creative gift ideas -- kind of like a creativity engine for gift ideas.
FindGift.com partners with online retailers. These retailers add their products into the FindGift.com database of gift ideas. We then show these gift ideas to consumers. When a consumer finds a gift idea they like and want to purchase it, or learn more about it, they then click on it and we deliver that shopper to the website of our online retailing partner who added that gift idea to the FindGift.com database.

What type of sites does FindGift.com accept as partners?
In order to be a FindGift.com merchant partner, your site needs to be an online retailer. Your site needs to sell products and services online and accept credit card transactions. Your site also needs to sell items that can be given to someone as a gift.
FindGift.com only partners with online retailers who are committed to offering good customer service to FindGift.com shoppers. We reserve the right to cancel the participation of an online retailer where we find that good customer service is not being provided.
Below, are the minimum requirements for a website to be listed on FindGift.com:
- A customer service phone number that can be published on our site that is answered in a professional manner.
- Good product pictures.
- Good product descriptions.
- Product prices clearly presented in US dollars.
- Use of a shopping cart. Exceptions for single product websites can be made.
- Be able to securely accept credit cards online.
- Commitment to providing quality customer service.
Currently, we do not accept:
- eBay stores
- SMC's - Specialty Merchandise Corporation cookie cutter websites
- Affiliate marketers
- 3rd party remarketers (such as Avon, Tupperware, etc.) with independent sales agents or consultants
We highly recommend:
- That merchants have each of their products neatly represented on separate product pages.
- That Yahoo merchants turn off their Yahoo Wallets. Having the wallet activated can significantly reduce conversions by increasing customer confusion and effort.
- Use of tracking codes for tracking purchases made by FG Shoppers.
How much does it cost to be included on FindGift.com?
FindGift.com delivers shoppers to your website on a Pay-Per-Click payment system. This means you only pay us for the actual traffic that we deliver to your website.
To begin, you can use a credit card to fund your FindGift.com with an initial balance. We accept Mastercard, Visa, and American Express. The amount of money you fund your account with determines the amount you pay for each click-through you receive from FindGift.com.
As we deliver traffic to your website, we deduct the amount for that click-through from your account balance. When your account balance approaches $0.00, you will receive an automated email from us to let you know that your account balance is almost depleted. At that time, you can replenish your account balance to renew and keep your FindGift.com listings active.
Or, you can choose to not add additional funds. When your funds are completely depleted your listings will automatically be removed from FindGift.com and you will have no further obligation.

What form of payment is accepted?
We accept online payments from Visa, Mastercard, and American Express.
Are there any contracts or long term commitments?
There are no contracts to sign or long term commitments. At any point, you can choose to let your account balance run to zero and decide not to add additional funds. When your funds are completely depleted your listings will automatically be removed from FindGift.com and you will have no further obligation.
We do have a Terms and Conditions that will govern the business relationship between our two companies. Be sure to read this document before signing up to become one of our merchant partners.
What types of products are not accepted for inclusion?
We reserve the right to decline listing any product for any reason. Though, we are usually very accommodating provided that the product is suitable to give as a gift.
Products listed on FindGift.com need to be a specific product sold, and not a product category. For example, "Flowers" would not be accepted as it is too broad; though, "24 Longstemmed White Daisies" would be acceptable.
Products listed on FindGift.com need to include a link to the product detail page for that item on your website. Once a consumer finds an item on FindGift.com that they like, we need to be able to take them directly to the page within your website where that item is shown so they don't have to search for it again.
Below is an overview of product types that are not acceptable for inclusion on FindGift.com...
- Products that display nudity on the product page on the merchant's website.
- Products that are overtly sexually graphic.
- Products that contain actual tobacco, such as cigars (humidors, cigar cutters, lighters, etc. are acceptable).
- Products that propagate a message of hate.
- Products that can harm someone.
Does FindGift.com accept product duplications?
Our current policy is to not accept products which are deemed to be exact duplicates. Though, as long as there is a recognizable differentiation, then it is likely that we will accept that product. For example, we can accept many different types of clock radios as long as the model or the manufacturer are different from what is already listed. But, we would not accept the same model/manufacturer of a clock radio that is already listed with our service.
Why do we do this? FindGift.com is not a price comparison engine. There are many websites out there that are built for price comparison. Our mission is to help people think of creative gift ideas. Thus, we try to avoid repetition.
How do I get my products loaded into FindGift.com?
When you create a merchant account with FindGift.com, you will be able to click on the "Product Listings" link. On that screen will be a link that says "Add a New Product Listing". Clicking on that link will bring up a short form where you would enter in the product name, description, price, and link to the product page on your website. This information will then be submitted to our editorial team for review.
Our editors will then review your submission. They will pull the graphic image from your website and add it to your FindGift.com listing. They will also add your product to the relevant FindGift.com categories. We reserve the right to edit product names and descriptions to ensure that products are represented in accordance with our listing conventions.
Typically, this process will take about 2 business days. You will receive a confirmation email once this review process is complete and the product has been activated on FindGift.com.
How will I know how much traffic comes from FindGift.com?
FindGift.com provides monthly reports for each of your products listed with us that shows the number of times your product was viewed by a FindGift.com shopper and how many click-throughs occurred. Though, we do not provide any reports to tell you how many sales you received from FindGift.com. Your website (or 3rd party service) will need to provide those types of reports for you. Please see section on tracking codes below for more information.
Does your system support tracking codes?
Yes, you can include tracking codes in your FindGift.com listing links. Tracking codes can be embedded within your linking URLs to interface with your website software to track the quality of visitors that FindGift.com delivers. Implemented correctly, this will help you determine how many sales FindGift.com traffic generates for your website.
We recommend using tracking codes in conjunction with a 30 day cookie to show sales made by FindGift.com shoppers who don't purchase on their first visit, but return directly to your website to make a purchase at a later time. Our data indicates that a significant amount of sales occur on subsequent visits as many gift shoppers like to think over their purchase before buying. FindGift.com supports listing URLs of up to 255 characters in length.
How do my pictures get uploaded into your system?
Our editors will pull the product images from your website and will reformat those images to our specifications. They will then add the product pictures to your listings.
How do I send a product data feed to FindGift.com?
For clients who fund their accounts with $1000, or more, we can support data feeds. Typically, we limit the amount of products added to 10 products per $100 deposited.
Our data feed system facilitates the automated updating of product pricing and availability within the FindGift.com website. The number of products added to FindGift.com via a merchant data feed depends on a variety of factors. Please contact a FindGift.com sales consultant for more information.
How long does it take to add my products and have them be included on FindGift.com?
Once you have created your merchant account, submitting product listings to FindGift.com takes about 1-2 minutes per product when adding them via our manual input interface. Once you have submitted your product listings, they are then submitted to our editors for review. Listing reviews are normally completed within 2 business days.
Leading up to major holidays, we usually get significantly busier and during these times, listing reviews may take upwards 3-4 days. It is usually a good idea to submit your product listings a month or two before a major holiday.
Within what categories will my products be included?
When your products are submitted, our editors will review your products and will add them to the relevant FindGift.com categories. FindGift.com has hundreds of categories and our editors are very good at finding the categories that will be the best fit for your products.
After your product listings are approved and activated, you will be able to log into your FindGift.com merchant account to review which categories your products have been added to. We are open to suggestions. If you feel that our editors missed placing your product within a certain category that is a good fit for your product, you can contact your account representative for a re-review.
How does FindGift.com determine in which order products are shown within a category?
In each category, FindGift.com listings are ranked by popularity. New product listings are started toward the middle of each of their respective categories. Thus, it is a good idea to submit your product listings to FindGift.com sufficiently ahead of an upcoming holiday, usually 6-8 weeks, to give your listings enough time to rise up in their best areas before the holiday traffic heats up.
Can I pay more to be shown higher?
FindGift.com product listings are strictly ranked by popularity and we do not have a way of increasing a product listings positioning by paying more. We do, however, have a Merchant Spotlight position in all of our categories that allows you to place a text advertisement of your choosing. How long has FindGift.com been in business?
FindGift.com was originally started as RegistryOnline.com in 1997. Our original mission was to be an open gift registry service where people could add any gift, from any store into a single gift registry. We soon discovered that most gift shoppers had an even bigger need -- coming up with creative gift ideas. In 1998, we relaunched our website as FindGift.com.
We now list over 45,000 gift ideas from over 1200 online retailers.
